Dragon Guardians: What They Are And Why They’re Important

Here at The Moonlight Shop, I have added some awesome Dragon Jewelry lately…

…and since then, I have gotten lots of questions about Dragon Guardians. I am by no means an expert on the subject, but in this post, I’ll do my best to answer the most often asked questions.

What is a dragon guardian?

Dragons are fierce by nature and one of the key traits of dragons is their desire to protect. In myths and fables, dragons often protects treasures, but they have been known to be protectors of humans as well.

A dragon guardian protects and guides you. Just like any angel or a spirit guide would.

When you open your mind, you’ll be able to feel its presence and its guidance.

Does everyone have a dragon guardian?

Let me put it this way; Everyone has the potential to attract a Dragon Guardian into their life.

However, since we are all different and since there is more than enough spirit guardians out there for all of us, not everyones guardian will be a dragon.

But, it’s my experience and understanding that people who are into dragon magic, usually have a dragon presence in their life…

What is the best way to bond with your dragon?

Bonding with your dragon guardian is a lifelong process, but before we go into that, you need to understand something…

…you don’t choose your dragon , your dragon chooses you!

But with that said, if you are already into dragons, chances are that your dragon guardian has already tried to make contact.

If you feel that’s the case, then one of the best ways to connect and bond is to use dragon imagery. This can be images on your walls, a tattoo or Dragon jewelry, like this Dragon Guardian Necklace from our shop:

I personally prefer the jewelry, because it’s something you can have on you at all times, but it isn’t as permanent as a tattoo (and I’ve never been that much into tattoos either).

Some things to remember:

It can takes years for a Dragon to decide to be someones Guardian. Just because you feel its presence, it doesn’t mean that its “Your Dragon”. It doesn’t work like that.

However, sometimes people can live an entire life with a Dragon Guardian, without ever knowing it was there…

Conclusion:

  • A Dragon Guardian helps you by protecting and guiding you
  • A Dragon will choose you. Not the other way aorund.
  • It takes time to connect and bond with your Dragon. Sometimes years.
  • Imagery (like a Dragon Guardian Necklace) is the best way to bond.
  • A Dragon can be around you for its own reasons.

    1. Everyone has a guardian, of what that is for ou to find out.You need to be aware of your surroundings and ask for guidance.Read up on totem animals and read, read, read!!! The answers are out there, you just need to be open to receive the answers. Good luck, Namaste

  1. Guys; I’m sorry to seem like I’m being very negative with what I’m about to say, but, James needs to do more research and rewrite this blog. The thing with Dragons is not that they can just be around for one reason or another or just simply be there for no reason, as the post implies; in fact it’s the exact opposite. If you can feel a Dragons presence then it’s not for any other reason than you. You are the reason the Dragon is there. See if you know anything about imprinting then you’ll also know that one of the animals that use strong imprinting are Dragons. Imprinting is when you, something, or some creature makes an immediate and un-breakable bond. So by this factual logic, it stand to reason that if you can feel the presence of a dragon, the Dragon is part of you. Yes, I said “part of you”; why? Because you can never truly own anything, whether magickal or physical, only the one true divine being that manifested the universe into being owns anything. Through the workings and dealings we have, do, and go through we pay tribute to the divine, giving thanks and asking for the right to use what is around us is part of who we are and what we do. Just like the Dragon, we must ask and give thanks for the things they can give us or lend us to use in our lives. One thing that I do agree with in James’ post is that the Dragon is there to help protect and guide you. Notice I said “help”, we as an independent being are the only ones who can chose the right path to go down in life. No one, or anything else for that matter, can tell us where to go, how to get there, and how to do the things we have to do; all of that is solely up to us. We as imperfect being, however, do need help from time to time; some more than others, but that’s not a bad thing. The Dragon is there to do just. Dragons are some of the oldest and most wisest creatures that there are. The greatest wizard in history, in at least my opinion, Merlin trusted in and dealt with, on almost a constant basis, Dragons. The wisdom he had shared with Arthur through his rule of Camelot and the things he was able to do with his magickal works were all mostly his doing along with the aid of Dragons, Owls, and Horses. So please just keep in mind that if you can feel the presence of a Dragon that reason he or she is there is for you and only you because they have imprinted on you and are willing to teach and help you as long as you are willing to hear them. One last thing before I close; anyone at any given point time is being guided by more than just one guide and guardian. Thank you for your time, and if you read this I hope you learned a little more or at least a little better about Dragons for I am speaking from experience and have mostly been relaying what my Dragon counterpart has had to say.
