The 5 Reasons Why You Should Wear a Pentacle

Why Wear a Pentacle

WHY SHOULD YOU WEAR A PENTACLE NECKLACE?

If you are an authentic Wiccan or starting your journey into Wicca, then there’s no need for me to explain why you should wear one. And if you don’t already own one, stop wasting time and get one!

Now, for those of you who are in the process of exploring the sacred teachings of Wicca, dreaming of becoming a fully realized and empowered Wiccan, continue reading to understand the significance of wearing a Pentacle.

A Pentacle stands as the most powerful emblem of the ancients. It spans across various religions and is frequently misunderstood as a dark symbol associated with black magick. Do not allow this misinterpretation to confuse you. While I could elaborate on its depth and significance, you simply need to know 5 compelling reasons to wear one:

IF YOU VALUE AND HONOR NATURE, THE PENTACLE IS THE IDEAL SYMBOL TO EXPRESS IT

The Pentacle is the finest emblem of Nature. It represents the Four elements: Earth (lower left point), Air (upper left point), Fire (lower right point), and Water (upper right point). The top point signifies the essential fifth element, which is the Divine Spirit.

A pentacle necklace can deepen your connection to the divine and enhance your bond with nature.

IT SYMBOLIZES THE NUMBER 5, A NUMBER OF MYSTIQUE AND MAGICK

The number 5 is deeply mystical and magickal, reflecting the human experience. We possess 5 fingers and toes. We have five senses: sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste. We experience 5 stages in life – birth, youth, adulthood, parenthood, and death. In Christianity, 5 refers to the wounds of Christ on the cross. In Islam, there are five pillars and five daily prayers. Furthermore, the WICCAN KISS is fivefold – feet, knees, womb, breasts, and lips.

IT BOOSTS YOUR CAPABILITIES

Your Pentacle can serve as a talisman or amulet. When crafted from wood, it connects you to nature and the natural realms. A gold Pentacle promotes mental clarity, energy, and wisdom. A silver one strengthens your ties to the Moon and enhances your psychic abilities.

AN ESSENTIAL TOOL FOR SPELL CASTING

For Wiccans skilled in spell casting, your Pentacle acts as a powerful Talisman. Often engraved with a “name of power,” such as an Angel, God, or Spirit, these talismans serve specific purposes, assisting you in harnessing the power and energy attributed to the entity inscribed on your Pentacle.

UNMATCHED PROTECTION

The Pentacle serves as a supreme symbol of protection. If you engage in spell casting and conjuring, you MUST possess the security that the Pentacle uniquely provides. As a talisman, it can be used to open, protect, and close a circle. It is effective in ceremonies and rituals, acting as a shield against negative energies, as well as attacks from spirits and demons. It also empowers you to summon, command, and control any forces that may threaten you.

  1. I have 100% same looking of that stone wiccan pentagram from here but bought it from somewhere else’s I wears em everyday and never take em off from my neck, NEVER! wears em for 24/7 and reason I wears em was because of Francis Lapointe my cyber brother who passed away at age 20 in nov 25 2013 at time of his death he was weared his wicca pentagram and now it’s wrap around his ash urn in Canada QC – Montreal, so I uplook at him and I want him inside my heart so I bought Wicca Pentagram and wears em since few days after of his death.

  2. I’m sorry, but I do not agree with this article. I find that if you wait, your symbol will come to you. Mine is the triquetra. Also, the power number in most cases is 3. When saying a spell, most times you will find it says say it 3 times. Also, 3 in itself is a power number. Now while a pentacle will indeed help with protection, you can make any symbol that you wear work as protection also.

  3. While I do wear one I have a problem with any blog post or article that starts with “If you are a TRUE…” Ugh. But yes love my pentacle but I spent a lot of time on finding the one that best suited my personal craft. Please dont feel you have to rush out just because someone else tells you that you arent a real or true whatever whether it be wiccan, heathen, christian etc. Just my personal opinion.

  4. I do not agree , and I have been at this a long time , I may however ware one if Im doing a directional spell , where all elements must meet , but to ware one no , my powers are me … winks

  5. What an entire bunch of horse manure. And guess what, the only requirements, are knowledge, belief. The “magick” is within”, always was, and always will be.. A Pentacle/Pentagram is just that a SYMBOL. Truth is you don’t “need” any of it. Whoever wrote this article knows very little about the reality of any of the Pagan paths, clearly. As a solitary witch/crone, who began my path decades ago, before it was “trendy”, that’s what I think.. ~)O(~

  6. And Wicca is a religion, and not all Wiccans are witches, and not all witches are Wiccans. As a student of Ray Buckner, and I mean that as in personally, he was my mentor. I think I may know just a tad more about Wicca, than this author does.

    1. Do you mean Ray Buckner or Ray Buckland? Buckner is an expert on gender issues and Buddhism, whereas the similarly-named Buckland is of course the well-known author on Wicca, Witchcraft and the like. I’d have thought that if you were going to use the “appeal to authority” argument, it’d have a lot more weight if you’d been a student of Buckland.

I do however agree with your sentiment that Wicca is the religion, Witchcraft is the craft, and the two do not necessarily automatically go together. That said, many people still follow that convention for historical reasons. I first became interested in Wicca before the internet, at a time when the words “Wiccan” and “Witch” were still essentially interchangeable. Another reason writers still follow this convention is because going into all the subtle nuances will confuse non-Pagans (there’s a lot of information to take in) – although as this article is aimed at Pagans, and most specifically Wiccans, that shouldn’t be an issue.
