It might be easiest to compile a list of spells and publish them in an ebook. Yet…
…a spell gains greater potency when you create it yourself!
So, let me guide you on how to craft your own spells instead.
I’m not suggesting this is the only or the best method…
…this is simply how I approach it – more or less 🙂
It’s a straightforward four-step method and it doesn’t require much.
I enjoy wearing my Pentacle of Spells, but it’s not essential. I find it assists me in focusing my energies.
Now, let’s begin:
STEP 01: What do you desire?
First, you must clarify what it is that you wish for. What’s the spell’s objective?
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all spell. Are you seeking a new job or perhaps the love of your life? Do you want to attract more money or eliminate something unwanted?
Articulate it as clearly as possible, preferably in a single sentence. For instance: “This spell will aid me in attracting true love.”
STEP 02: What materials do you need?
The next step is to determine and select what ingredients you’ll use for your spell. Herbs, candles, and sometimes stones are commonly good picks. Other items like feathers, jewelry, or even an old CD, piece of clothing, or kitchen knife can be effective…
Keep in mind that spells often revolve around symbolism, so if a pair of old sneakers holds special significance for you, consider incorporating them into your spell.
STEP 03: When will you perform it?
For certain spells, timing can be essential. It’s not always required, but it often benefits the process.
For example, if you’re casting a positive spell or seeking to bring something into your life, the energy of the waxing moon should be tapped into.
Conversely, if you aim to repel something or shed old habits, it’s generally better to utilize the waning phase.

Timing can also relate to specific days of the week. For instance, Friday is recognized as Freya’s Day – you know, the goddess of love and fertility…
You could even opt for a specific month, but be cautious not to overthink it.
It’s preferable to proceed rather than wait for the “perfect” time (which might be five years away when the moon is full, on a Thursday in August).
STEP 04: What should be spoken?
You know it.
WORDS HOLD POWER!
Determine if your ritual will include a chant or if you wish to call upon your deities for assistance. You might choose to recite a poem that resonates with you.
Alternatively, your spell might call for utter silence. Only you can decide!
THAT’S IT!
- What do you desire?
- What materials do you need?
- When will you do it?
- What will you say?
It’s not really that complicated, is it?
While I realize this is simplified, that’s how I prefer it. Chances are that you (and I) will retain this more easily when reduced to a few steps… (reduced, heh)
You could argue that there’s a fifth step. However, that’s more about what you should do afterwards…
Because, you should definitely record how everything unfolded once you’re done.
Perhaps you need to tweak a few details or perhaps everything went smoothly and worked perfectly. But if you don’t jot it down in your book of shadows, it will be tough to understand what was effective and what wasn’t…
As a general guideline, you should see results within one lunar month (28 days).
Lastly, keep the rule of three in mind – be kind and be mindful of what you wish for, as the universe can be unpredictable sometimes ;O)
One more thing…
…when I compose my spells, I prefer to wear my Pentacle of Spells. I believe it enhances my focus and strengthens my connection with the universe and my goddess.
Unless my spell requires otherwise, I also keep it on me while casting.
In conclusion, I must emphasize that the spell’s effectiveness doesn’t negate the necessity for your own efforts.
You might think you can simply cast spells all day at home, but if you never send out resumes or leave your house, your odds of achieving that ideal job or meeting Mr. or Mrs. Right diminish significantly…
…therefore, use your spells as tools to assist you, but don’t depend entirely on them.
