Owls are nocturnal creatures that have the ability to see in the dark and fly and hunt swiftly, without making a sound. Yes, those wide eyes are all-seeing! Owls are creatures of clairvoyance, keen perception, astral projection, instincts, and the occult.
In the world of Wicca, the owl is a very important symbol. Owls carry ancient knowledge of the powers of the moon, and represent both wisdom and darkness.
Owls in Greek Mythology
Owls are not only significant to us Wiccans, but across many cultures. Perhaps the most well known lover of owls is Athena, the Goddess of wisdom and the night…
Athena had an owl perched upon her shoulder or hand at all times. And this owl would reveal truths to her that she herself couldn’t see with her own eyes. In return, Athena would only speak only the full truth, making her the Goddess of wisdom.
Connecting With Owls
When owls gather around you at daytime, consider yourself lucky! Because owls only do this to those whom they feel they have a kinship with. When owls become your friend, they will help you see the whole truth and not just some parts of it.
Owls also connect with you in your meditation and through your dreams. This is how they are able to help you in your magick and unfold things for you, by sending you messages in your dreams!
Owls as Omens
Owls are your totem animals if you wish to sharpen your powers of observation. When you seek to connect with them, pay attention to what’s happening around you, and be mindful of signals and omens.
There are some people who believe owls to be omens of death. Not to be taken negatively, this is just another way of owls showing you the truth and warning you of what is coming.
Owls see undistorted reality and acknowledge it. They are not afraid of it because from truth comes enlightenment.
Owls will give you with the very same vision they have if it is your heart’s true desire.
So… Are you ready for the truth and clarity that owls can bring into your life?
Was there ever a time you felt the presence of owls in your life?
Let me know your thoughts and experiences. I would love to hear them!
Hi, I live in central Florida, USA, and I would love to share an ongoing experience I have had for the past two years with one of these lovely creatures… I have been visited near every full moon since I conceived my son in May of 2016. She is beautifully breathtaking, standing near 2 foot tall and a huge wingspan. She is a white owl, and has been literally at my front door every full moon without fail. She has seen me through two pregnancies now, and i have often heard her outside my sons window hooting for him almost like she is calling him. I have a daughter now also although my beautiful owl has yet to communicate with her.
I have loved having this owl close by and have begun to call her my sons guardian…. However with that being said, I have not yet let my son, who is a little over a year old now, go outside to her. I feel pulled to let him, but her size is big enough to carry him and I have a few small worries that she wants him all to herself. What are your thoughts? Should I allow my son to interact with her without barriers between them? Do you have any info on why she may have taken a liking to my son? Let me know any feed back you have may have on this, as I am very curious…..Thank you
email me at Tina.ubc@protonmail.com I will tell you what it means. Please do not let your children come near it.
I was unrightfully fired from my job in June. The night of my being fired, I had been drinking and my fiance was driving us back home from the local store. We had to come to an almost complete stop bc an owl had posted up in the middle of “our” right hand lane. Since then I’ve seen nor heard an owl until tonight, 4 months later. Finance is having to support the family while I’ve collected unemployment until I can find work again… we argued from 12am til 1am… from 1:35am til now 2:17am I’ve been listening to an owl hoot in my back yard.
Ashley, email me at Tina.ubc@Protonmail.com – I will tell you what it means. In the meantime, do not fight with your fiancé. Do what you need to do, to calm both yourselves, and find a solution to your problem.
